A 10/2008 reply to an out-of-bounds resident, who desired membership: "We discussed at two board meetings, and decided not to expand the OHA boundaries. You are welcome to participate, as guest, in activities of Oak Hill Association.
Our general meetings are open to all.
For the 10/18 Halloween Parade, we ask that guests donate to OHA of $5 per child. VIvian Breen will be at the Parade and say that if anyone is there as a guest, they may make the donation--cheap for what one receives! (She also will have eligible non-members complete a membership form.)
I have added you to my email list, so you can be kept in the loop.
Steve Miller Secretary, Oak Hill Association"

Vivian Breen's input: We should make it clear that guests will have to pay a fee to attend certain events For example, Laura Campbell asked if two families from the playgroup who don't live in Oak Hill could attend the Halloween Parade. I replied in the affirmative, but requested that they pay -or give a donation--to the OHA of $5 per child. I plan on appearing at the Parade and announcing that we expect that the attendees are members of the OHA and , if not, that I have forms for them to join. I will also say that if anyone is there as a guest, they may make the donation--cheap for what one receives! If we start having a lot of guests, then we may have to rethink the fee.
