TREASURER'S REPORT (Oscar Iturralde)

• Vivian Breen, as President, will write a letter to the insurance companies authorizing new address and Oak Hill treasurer.
• Review and renewal of insurance coverage
• Status of CD renewals
• Update on status of signators and name change on bank accounts - Vivian and Oscar were to meet at banks on Saturday, Mar 14 to make necessary changes

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE REPORT: (Bill Butler):

• GOAL: Provide activities for each demographic: retired, middle aged, and young (with children))
• Response to latest membership drive: Karen
• Membership file status: Karen/Oscar intend to "merge" the spreadsheet (containing the 73) with the old spreadsheet (containing all present and many previous members)
• New streets & houses in Oak Hill - Karen to verify Oak Hill Estates and Red Hill Rd development (~4 houses) are on postcard distribution
• Vivian proposed to drop the "newcomer comp"? IS THIS NOW DROPPED?

INCREASING OAK HILL AWARENESS; OAK HILL COMMUNICATIONS (Organized/reported by Lee Brewer?)

• A total of 7 cards are proposed to be mailed in 2015. Subsequent cards might be
  • April card to announce May 5 Gen Meeting and May 15-16 Neighborhood block sale: Sean to plan April Mailer? Who will deliver 200 local copies?
  • May/June card to announce summer programs, etc.

• Posting new material to Facebook Lee Brewer?
• Lee statistics on https://www.facebook.com/OakHillNJ traffic (resulting from Karen's snow photo contest.)

OAK HILL EMAIL: UPDATES/NEWSLETTERS

• OHCA email status (Steve Miller):
  • A major problem is "spam" blocking; OHCA appears to be on a secret spam "blacklist" by Comcast and Yahoo (and other ISPs?) - Steve believes he has a way to "fly under Spam radar": avoid stale email addresses; avoid key words; NO hyperlinks; NO plain text appearing like hyperlinks.
  • Convert to Mailchimp.com (begin phasing 1st week of April)
  • OHCA emailing every few days. Currently: 5 day/3day/1 day countdown to Mar 28 Easter Egg Hunt (includes membership renewal directions to 2014 and 2013 previous members). FEEDBACK RECEIVED: this high frequency is EXCESSIVE!
  • OHCA emails (every 2 week?) will feature May 5 meeting, and call for nominations
  • Finished several updates on Tatum/Ballantine burglary; (last was a 9 year perspective on the last burglaries on Tatum - this article could ALSO be posted in oakhillnj.nextdoor.com
• MONTHLY NEWSLETTER Lee proposed a monthly "newsletter" with regular specific sections POSSIBLE SECTIONS:
  • POLICE ACTIVITY: 1st column might publicize Middletown restrictions on door-to-door solicitation. NEED A VOLUNTEER TO WRITE THIS COLUMN - who volunteers to be the police liaison?
  • FOODS & GARDENS:
    • Organic Farm Food sources (Steve Miller will issue an Oak Hill Update on a weekly delivery farm to drop-off/pickup points at Molson Nursury and Harmony Rd)
    • arsenic in wine - with a long list of tested wines

OHCA ORGANIZATION

• Plans for NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH. APPOINT BLOCK CAPTAINS: organize block watch, social events, and distribute magnets/papers to members. Who is identifying/organizing the block captains?
• Example: Bill Butler plans for "meet neighbor" activities within his smaller neighborhood.

LEGALITIES:

• The OHCA board does not want to make unnecessary changes in OHA/OHCA legal status. What is current legal status? (Pat DeSan ; Rebecca Iacobellis; Oscra Iturralde)

2015 ACTIVITIES, & RESPONSIBLE PEOPLE

• Bill Butler to host 7PM OHCA dinner at Bonefish Grill (for NYC commuters)
• March 28 EASTER EGG HUNT STATUS: Roseann Romano
• MAY 5 GENERAL MEETING Topics: Bill Butler reported that Randall Gabriellan is prepared to talk about Oak Hill history (he has a nice 4 page handout). Steve Miller reported, Phil Welch can present a 15 minute talk on Family Promise. Mayor Murray (Bill Butler)?; Police Chief Weber (Steve Miller has Detective chief Stephen Dollinger available as needed, on POSSIBLE TOPICS.) Reservation of May 5 United Methodist Church on Lincroft-Middletown Road (HELEN DUTHIE ACTION)
• MAY 15/16. Ronnie Lander has full plan in place
• AUGUST 8 Sunset Cruise: Bill Butler to explore "Capt Dan" out of Atlantic Highlands (combine with dinner?).
• "New Foods - New Places To Dine Club".  - Lee Brewer reported he will lead dinners at the initial three sites
• Additional activities might be "Bunco Group" and "Young Mom's Club"
• 2015 DIRECTORY and BUSINESS DIRECTORY (WHO is organizer?)

NEW BUSINESS

• Bill Butler circulated (via Steve's OHCA Email) open OHCA positions: Lee Brewer volunteered for VP Social Media (Communications Director). Need VP of IT.
